About SXWW
Hi, My name is Clint, and I'm the founder and director of SXWW. I would like to take this oppertunity to once again welcome you to the site and also provide some background on myself and SXWW. My career began in the building & construction industry way back in the late 90's. I was about 17 years old when I landed my first 'real' job with a sign company in Brisbane. It was a baptism of fire. I was young and energetic, keen to learn and frankly pretty excited to travel on a company credit card. I would travel for weeks and months at a time 'assisting' a crew of tradesman with a multitude of jobs for some very high profile clients. It was an amazing experience to kick off my career and I'm often left wanting to track the original owners down just to thank them for what I was able to take away from my time there. Since then I have worked in many other roles and have personally witnessed the evolution of workwear and the building & construction industry itself. The concept of SXWW was created in 2015 after I was kicked off site for not wearing long pants & long sleeves in the middle of a Queensland summer. I remember thinking then just as I do now that there must be a better way to combine comfort with compliance. So as soon as I arrived home my wife and I started cutting, sewing and modifying my existing workwear until we had a diamond in the rough. A short time later we found a wonderful patern maker who helped us get the ball rolling and has now produced a number of professional quality prototypes for us. We also utilize a local uniform manufacturer who can assist us for larger quantities. SXWW is a patented Aussie invention produced in Australia for Australia's harsh conditions. We have made contact with many established companies over the years and despite receiving quite positive feedback for our designs we are still yet to find a more permanent solution. Therefore we would also like to encourage potential investors or businesses who may wish to work with us or who currently have contacts in the workwear industry to get in touch and help us keep the dream alive.
